These terms govern your use of The School Gallery, operated by JAM IT & Design Ltd ("JAM", "we", "us"). By creating a parent/guardian account, or by using the mobile app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you're a member of school staff, your school's own agreement with us governs your use of the staff portal; these terms cover the parent-facing account and app.
The School Gallery lets a school share photos of pupils with their families, collect each family's consent before a photo can be downloaded in full resolution, and let families view and download photos their child appears in once every tagged family has consented. The service is provided to schools under a separate commercial agreement between JAM and the school; a parent account doesn't involve any payment to us directly.
You must provide accurate information when creating an account, and are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us straight away if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. An account may only be linked to a child once we can reasonably confirm you're that child's parent or guardian — we may decline or reverse a link we can't verify.
Granting or denying consent for a photo is a real decision with real effect: a denial removes that photo from every family it was shared with, not just yours, and can't be undone once made. A grant makes the full-resolution original available for download once every other tagged family has also consented. Please make these decisions thoughtfully.
You agree not to: attempt to access another family's account or data; attempt to circumvent the consent system; redistribute a downloaded photo in a way that puts a child's safety or privacy at risk; or use any automated means to access the service outside the normal app/website. Every photo you download carries an embedded, per-account watermark that can identify who downloaded it — this exists to deter and trace exactly the kind of misuse this section describes.
Photos remain the property of the school (or its photographer) that took them. Your consent decision controls whether a photo is shared and downloadable through the platform — it doesn't transfer ownership or grant you a licence to use the photo commercially.
We aim to keep the service available and reliable, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may need to take it offline briefly for maintenance. We're not liable for losses arising from planned or unplanned downtime, to the extent permitted by law.
To the extent permitted by law, JAM's liability to you arising from your use of the service is limited to direct losses, and we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited (for example, liability for our own negligence causing personal injury).
You can ask us to erase your account at any time — see the "Privacy requests" page in your parent portal, or our Privacy Policy for how the right to be forgotten works. We may suspend or close an account that breaches section 5 (acceptable use).
We may update these terms from time to time; we'll update the date at the top of this page when we do. If a change is material, we'll aim to let you know directly.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
